If the very motive of depth is to convey authenticity then a surface is medium for deceit. The most violent illusion of depth exists at the flair of a planar surface to subvert dimensionality.
How much of our individual truths that we hold sacred are merely an illusive shell? That which is inherently calciferous and mineralised in its composition, often meant to protect the vulnerability of our vital core. The arduous decoding of one’s apparent radix that holds the shell together is feckless. Every futile attempt of “scratching the surface” helps in the reinforcement of this artifice we call “identity”.
